It would seem that the ideal of almost every person is to be in a relationship where they belong and are accepted just as they are. A place to be loved and to love. As humans, we can find this in the lifelong joining of a male and female in marriage. As Jesus said “This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.' Since they are no longer two but one…” (Matt 19:5-6) Paul in his letters backs this up, "A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one." (Ephesians 5:31)
Hence the title of my new book...
“ONENESS – Experiencing God’s Design for Marriage”
Unfortunately this ‘oneness’ is not automatic. As one person said to me recently, “We knew nothing when we got married and it was a struggle to relate together.” This was also true for Mary and me. We were ignorant, and it showed. Life was a struggle, until one day we got some help in that we received some teaching and information that opened our eyes. From that moment life began to improve and has continued to do so.
What did we learn?
To follow God’s way of doing things, and that is what the book ‘ONENESS’ is all about. You never stop learning and that was true for me as I wrote this book. My editor, Anya, wanted me to write an epilogue, and as I did so a revelation about myself and what I was like to live with came to me. It was a bit of a revelation and changed my attitude toward Mary.
